Junior Cadets and Ladies Auxiliary of the Knights of St. John Internation
This past week, the Junior Cadets of and Auxiliary of the knights and Ladies
of St. John International held their Jamboree in our Parish. It was a four day
program. I helped them in a few areas that they need my assistance. I was very
happy to see these young boys and girls on fire for their Faith.
I had the privilege of exposing the Blessed Sacrament for Adoration and
inasmuch as I could see that some of them had never had that opportunity to
adore the Lord, I could feel the hunger in them to be so close to the Lord. It
is my hope that God willing other groups will be introduced to Adoration of the
Blessed Sacrament outside Mass. Below are a couple of Pictures for that Occasion

On their final day last Sunday, they
had a parade and joined in the procession. It was very well organized and again
I was filled with you to see all these young ones on fire for the Lord. Below are more pictures.

Solemnity of the Assumption of Our Blessed Virgin Mary
On November 1, 1950, the Holy Father Pope Pius XII in his Apostolic Constitution Munificentissimus Deus defined the dogma of the
Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. He said that the Virgin Mary “having completed the course of her
earthly life, was assumed body and soul into heavenly glory”
This special Feast day has attracted lots of celebrations
all over various dioceses and parishes in the world in honor of our Lady. In my
Parish Our Lady of Seven Sorrows here in Navrongo, this feast was marked with
the celebration of two Masses with the Basilica filled to capacity in both
Masses. We had the various groups all dressed up in their uniforms to celebrate
this great feast of our Blessed Lady. Below are some pictures of the
congregation after Mass when they processed to the Grotto for the final
blessing.

Our Lady of Seven Sorrows- Three Months Pastoral Experience
Thank you so much for viewing my blog. We will continue to be united in prayer.
I have been assigned to the Basilica of Our Lady of Seven Sorrows in a town called Navrongo for three months prior to my Ordination on December 1, 2012.
This basilica is very historic in the whole country. It was the First Church and the first Parish to be established in the Northern Part of Ghana when the Missionaries came to evangelize the people of the north of Ghana in 1909.
This parish is one of the very busy parishes in my beloved Diocese of Navrongo-Bolgatanga. There are always activities going on in the parish besides it being a good tourist center for many people from far and near. It is built with mud and it is still standing strong.
I am one week old here and I continue to be grateful to God for using me in this parish. Part of my assignment is to witness weddings, funerals, all the blessings, and other activities. Right now there is a week-long retreat going in preparation for the Feast of the Assumption of our blessed Mother on August 15. I gave a talk to the pilgrims Yesterday on John 2:5 "Do Whatever he tells you" Every evening all the pilgrims gather at the Grotto to pray the Rosary. It is amazing out here.
This morning I blessed pilgrims from the parish belonging to the Sacred Heart of Jesus Confraternity who were travelling to Ouagadougou for the upcoming Feast of Assumption.
One Unique thing about this parish is that every daily Mass, the basilica is full and I am always tired when distributed Holy Eucharist to them. I admire the faith of the people.
Here are some pictures of the Minor Basilica of Our Lady of Seven Sorrows

One of the ways the Priest and Clergy feed are the gifts they recieve from the people. I was called to blessed a shop and this is the product of that blessing....
I got a roster for dinner :)

Last weekend in my home Parish St. Anthony of Padua Parish
This past weekend was my last weekend in my home parish St. Anthony of Padua Parish in Bawku before leaving for my new assignment in the Basilica of Our Lady of Seven Sorrows in Navrongo.
I preached the Sunday homily and I stressed on how Jesus longs to feed us all and how we should be prepared to recieve him which involves us going for the Sacrament of Reconciliation.
I also used the opportunity at the end of Mass to thank my parishioners for all their prayer support for me while I was in the United States.
God has been good always and i will forever be grateful to him for bringing you all into my life. What I acn offer him is my life "With you O Lord I want to offer my life everyday, that you may be all in all."
I offer you my dear ones in the US, my prayers. I do miss you all.
